Overview
This simple 10A–50A 3-phase adaptor is designed to support a wide range of electrical testing applications. It bonds L1, L2 and L3 together to allow energisation from a single-phase supply, enabling RCD trip time testing from active to protective earth using a compatible portable appliance tester (PAT) or RCD tester.
This makes the adaptor suitable for the testing of single-phase RCD-protected outlets on portable three-phase worksite distribution boards using a single-phase test supply.
In addition, the adaptor enables earth continuity and insulation resistance testing on 3-phase appliances and extension leads when used with a suitable appliance tester.
Note: This device is not capable of applying power to 3-phase appliances or converting single phase supply to 3-phase.
Applications
- Can be used with an RCD tester with isolation* (or a suitable portable appliance tester) to perform RCD tests on single phase outlets on 3-phase distribution boards.
- Allows testing of earth continuity and insulation resistance of 3-phase equipment and extension leads
- In conjunction with an RCD test adaptor (sold separately) the device enables functional verification of RCD operation on portable three-phase distribution boards without energising from the fixed installation.**
*Isolation transformer sold separately
**This adaptor does not provide a three-phase supply and should not be used where AS/NZS 3760 requires testing with a three-phase supply connected (Clause H.3.2).
